The 100% electrohydrogenation experience at the 36th Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS) to be held on May 22-25, 2025 will continue to push the boundaries as Australia’s largest marine lifestyle event I’m continuing. With the launch of a brand new, luxurious sea trial district, premium buyers have given them an exclusive opportunity to test cutting edge ships in the stunning Gold Coast waters.
With 80% of the exhibitor space already on sale, the 2025 event is set to be bigger than ever, featuring the latest marine innovation, luxurious superyachts and world-leading marine brands. I’m here.
New Luxury Sea Trial District: Game Changer for Premium Buyers
For the first time, the expansion of the Sanctuary Cove Marina Superyacht Arm at J Pier (including 25 new berths) will allow luxury buyers to ride and experience the thrill of a sea trial on a luxury ship. This exclusive addition not only meets exhibitor demand, but also cements SCIB as the best on-water showcase in the Southern Hemisphere.
Among the outstanding experiences is the Candela C-8. This is an innovative 100% electric hydrogenated boat that slides over the water and provides a very smooth ride that is almost packed.
Chris Fronness, co-founder and managing director of carbon yachts, which will debut the vessel, says this is an important opportunity for electric boats in Australia.
“We are extremely excited to premiere the Candela C-8 at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show. There is no good environment to showcase the future of sustainable luxury on the water.”
Built in Sweden with the Polestar 2’s 69kWh battery, the Candela C-8 boasts the longest range and highest cruising speeds of any electric boat in serial production.
“The real magic happens when hydrofoil technology lifts a boat over the waves. All you suddenly hear is the sound of nature instead of the engine roar,” says Hrones.
“When people experience a ride, their smoothness, speed, sustainability – they become instant supporters.”
Marine industry heavyweight lineup
SCIBS 2025 presents an unparalleled collection of marine products and ships from world-leading manufacturers and companies, including:
AMC, Dometic, Horizon Motor Yachts, Maritimo, Northside Marine, Palm Beach Motor Yachts, Riviera, Princess Yachts, Shimano, Suzuki, Yachtsale s Co, Yachtsman International
SCIBS has a reputation as the ultimate launchpad for marine innovation, continuing to attract top-tier exhibitors and global brands, ensuring unparalleled experience for both industry experts and boat enthusiasts .
Corey Rattray-Wood, head of events at Mulpha Events, says demand for exhibitor space highlights the impact of the show.
“SCIBS is where the marine industry operates. Every year, our exhibitors ensure incredible sales results, and 2025 is no exception.”
A 400 million dollar economic power
Last year’s sold out show attracted 334 exhibitors, including 334 exhibitors, 767 boats (a record 356 on the water) and over 2,500 marine products. The event has donated more than $400 million to the Queensland economy, earning $380 million in direct sales and $20 million in visitors.
Michaela Claes, operations manager for Pantaenius Sail & Motor Yacht Insurance, has confirmed the commercial impact of the event.
“This is the 13th consecutive year at SCIBS, and the annual results exceed our expectations. This is the main event in the domestic market and the highlight of the year to meet both the industry and the customers. What the MulphaEvents team creates is amazing.
Don’t miss this year’s marine event!
