A California woman was arrested Thursday. She is said to have replaced the US flag with Mexicans at Heart Park in Bakersfield. Reports say Crystal Aguilar was arrested for slashing the chain securing the flagpole before throwing stars and stripes into the mud to raise the Mexican flag. She was taken into custody on charges of vandalism and trespassing.
The Kern County Sheriff posted a video of the incident and arrested her on YouTube. The video shows the 24-year-old resisting arrest while the Rangers repeatedly threaten her with killing them and their families. “You’re not going to tell me what to do, this is a land of Mexico, mother****,” she heard screaming in the video.
At about 9:36am, police responded after receiving multiple reports of people trying to steal American flags from the park entrance. Upon arrival, the Pakrangers spotted Aguilar’s white sedan stuck in muddy grass near the flagpole.
When the Rangers approached, they discovered that Aguilar had already removed the American flag and replaced it with the Mexican flag. Reports say when the Park Rangers tried to detain her, she physically resisted and posed a verbal threat. “My dad is going to kill you and your whole family. You think this is a joke. It’s not,” she said.
