Detry had eight birdies and bogeys to reach under 12 on another day of perfect conditions for TPC Sawgrass. Michael Kim shot a bogeyless 63 to reach 10 under, tied up with Alex Smalley, who shot a 65.

Argentina’s Emiliano Grillo caused the biggest roar of the day and only beer shower, slamming his tee shot in a rough par 3 16th place for the ace.
Tournament officials have tried to hold back their drinks as they fly out of the stands at the stadium hall since Sam Ryder and Carlos Ortiz caused a beer shower at the ace in 2022. Cup before dropping to blow out the bubbles.
Justin Thomas roughly coincided with Grillo, hitting tee shots at 16-3 feet at the age of 68.

Detry, a two-time Belgian Olympian, opened the second with three birdies at the front nine, shooting 66 in the first round at TPC Scottsdale and aiming for a first PGA Tour victory. His birdie in No. 9 kicked off three straight runs and reached 3 feet around the bogey in a par 4 for 490 yards.
Spieth was tied to 69th place at Pebble Beach last week and scrambled from several tough spots to film 68 in the opening round in the desert. He managed one birdie on the front nine in the second round, but sank a 5-foot and 11-foot Eagle putt on two back nine par 5s from TPC Scottsdale.
Spieth added a birdie to the 17th after hitting the right of Short Par 4.
Away from a missed cut at the Torrey Pines, Smalley opened at 67 and opened four birdies on a five-hole stretch in the second round. The 28-year-old American rolled at 6 feet, Eagle Putt birded a difficult par 4 11th place, but bogeyed par 5 15th place when he hit a second shot underwater I did.
Kim, the winner of the 2018 John Deere Classic, missed the cut in two of three tournaments to start the season, but dialed the game at TPC Scottsdale. After opening at 69, he indicted the leaderboard by closing with four straight birdies and shot a 6-under 30 on the back nine.
