Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen was named MVP at the NFL Honorary Awards show on Thursday night, ahead of the Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans.
The victory was like a surprise as Allen had taken bases with Lamar Jackson on the NFL All-Pro team at the beginning of the year. This was decided by the same voter group as the MVP Award. But Allen, not a man who doesn’t know how to pull the upset away, he went home in hardware.
After the victory, patients at Oishay Children’s Hospital in Buffalo congratulations to Allen via heartwarming video. Allen often volunteers at Patricia Allen’s Child Recovery Building, named after her grandmother.
After watching the video, Allen was immediately shed tears.
“It’s pretty cool. I don’t know what else to say. I’m grateful to everyone,” Allen said.
“My job isn’t that difficult. Allen said directly to the camera. “It’s much more difficult for you guys to go through and have to keep fighting. I think as much as you respect me. I respect you. I am truly grateful. I love you.”
“Yeah, I didn’t want to cry tonight,” Allen finished.
We too Josh.
