President Trump submitted an update on US relations at a press conference with Japanese Prime Minister Isgaba at the White House on Friday, saying that instead of acquiring the famous American manufacturer, Nippon Steel was “heavy” to US steel. “We have announced that we will invest.
The move is a shift from Nippon Steel’s first pitch to acquire US Steel at $14.9 billion, with former President Joe Biden rejecting it while still in office. Trump also opposed the Japanese companies’ offers during the president’s re-election bid.

“US steel is a very important company for us,” Trump said. “We didn’t want to see that holiday — we didn’t actually leave, but the concept is psychologically, not good. So instead they own it, they’re paying a lot for US steel. I agreed to invest in.
Trump, who called Nippon Steel “Nissan” at a press conference, said he would meet with the company’s leaders to resolve details of the contract.

Isba said Japan’s spending on US steel would be part of the US country’s $1 trillion investment
The press conference followed a meeting between Trump and Isba in his oval office. The Japanese Prime Minister is the second international leader to meet Trump at the White House since he took office. Trump sat for the first time with Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday.
Trump says Doge will review “almost everything”
The president was also asked by reporters about the government’s federal cost-cutting initiative, government efficiency, or the ongoing efforts of Elon Musk, who leads Doge.
Trump said Dozi will go “almost everything,” but he has picked out reviews from both the Department of Education and the Pentagon.
“I have instructed you to check (mask) education and check the Pentagon, the military. Unfortunately, you can find something pretty bad, but you don’t think proportionally. I’m going to see what we just saw.”
Musk has already taken steps to restructure several government sectors and agencies. In particular, Doge took steps to close the US Organization for International Development (USAID) and accessed the Treasury payment system.
When asked by reporters whether there was a field of government that Musk could not touch, Trump said “we haven’t discussed that much.”
Trump suggested that some areas of the government may be outside of Doge restrictions. “Maybe some high intelligence or something, and if I have to do it, I’ll do it myself, but generally speaking, I’ll just say I’ll just go,” the president said. Ta.
Trump was also asked about bringing back a former Doge staff member who resigned after the employee was discovered to have created a racist post on social media.
Trump said he was unaware of the incident, but said he supported rehiring staff after being informed that Vice President Vance was in favor of bringing him back.
Trump says more about Gaza
Prior to the meeting between Trump and the Japanese Prime Minister, the president was asked by a reporter in the Oval Office.
He was asked about US policy deliberations on Gaza and his comments earlier this week to “take over” the Gaza Strip. Despite a major boost to comments from international leaders and organizations, Trump told reporters that he thought the pledge was well received.

“Essentially, the US sees it as a real estate transaction, where we become investors in that part of the world, and there’s nothing to hurry up,” Trump said. The ground” And Israel “sees it from a safety standpoint.”
“The fact that we are there, that we are investing there will go a long way in creating peace,” Trump added. “We don’t want anyone to move in ten years after they return.”
Trump heads to Florida after GOP budget talk continues
What was missing from the president’s remarks at the White House was the latest information on where things were standing with the GOP lawmakers.
Trump has put pressure on Capitol Hill Republicans to propose a budget framework tailored to his policy agenda. Lawmakers aim to use the budget bill as part of the settlement process to avoid potential Senate Democrat filibusters.

House Republicans have a thin razor majority in the Chamber of Commerce and have yet to announce proposals, but Senate GOP leaders are set to move forward with their plans.
Trump met house speaker Mike Johnson and R-LA, as well as some GOP members during a five-hour meeting at the White House on Thursday. The president is also expected to sit with a group of Senate Republicans at Mar-A-Lago in Florida on Friday evening.
