The BBC will broadcast highlights of this season’s Champions League matches and will have a special highlights programme after the UEFA Super Cup this Wednesday.
For the next three years, match-by-match highlights will be available on BBC iPlayer, the BBC Sport website and app from 22:00 on Wednesdays during Champions League match weeks, with an additional highlights programme broadcast on BBC One from 22:40.
Clips will also be made available online and on social media.
The number of Champions League matches will be increased to 17 rounds in total, including eight group rounds that will run from 17 September to 29 January, plus an extra round before the round of 16.
The Champions League will expand from 32 to 36 teams this season, with all teams grouped together in a single table.
The top eight teams will advance to the round of 16, while teams ranked 9th to 24th will advance to a new playoff round.
This means the BBC will broadcast highlights from this season’s Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup.
The new contract will begin on Wednesday, August 14, with the bonus show of the Super Cup between Real Madrid and Atalanta.
Highlights will be available to watch on the BBC Sport website from 22:00 BST, with the BBC One programme broadcast from 22:40.
Meanwhile, BBC Scotland will have full live coverage of Tuesday’s third qualifying round second leg between Rangers and Dynamo Kyiv, with the match available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
The match at Hampden Park will kick off at 19:45 BST.
Highlights from the first leg, which finished 1-1 thanks to a late equaliser from Kyriel Desserts, are available to watch on iPlayer.
BBC Radio 5 Live will continue to broadcast live commentary from selected Champions League matches this season, while TNT Sport and Amazon Prime Video will broadcast matches live in the UK.
Amazon will have the first pick for Tuesday’s games (17 in total), with all other games broadcast on TNT.
