Marshall -Monday night was the second hometings from the end of the season with New Urum, a senior night of the Marshall Gymnastics Team. Tigers scored near the highest season, but could not get a victory against New Urum, which was 132.95-118.3.
“They have been an important part of the team since they started.” Marshall’s head coach Samantha Nielsen talked about three seniors on the team, Kioma Oniagara, Kendall Wallerius, and Naya Grahan. “I’ve been able to coaches them since they started, and it was really fun. Germany has the top finish of a Marshall single event, and as the runner -up of the cellner’s 8.600 events, he won 7.800 at the bar and finished. Murphy also ranked fourth at 7.500 at Marshall’s events.
Deutz’s 8.25 score on the floor was the best score by Marshall’s gymnasts in a single event on the day, winning the fifth place. ONYEAGHALA and MURPHY each won 7.85 and ranked 7th.
ONYEAGHALA is a Tigers top finisher in Vault, won 8.075 and ranked fifth, and Leahh Wing ranked sixth at 7.900.
Wing and Murphy are leading marshall with beams at 7.225 and 7.200, suitable for fifth and sixth place, but Deutz ranked seventh in 7.05.
Marshall will host Luverne for the final home meeting on Friday
“I think (the focus) we just want to treat those injuries and make sure they have some rest.” Nielsen talked about future tournaments. “At the same time, we are working on upgrades that they have been working on in all seasons so that they can be put in the routine before the section.”
