U.S. News & World Report and University Headquarters have released new rankings of SUNY Canton’s popular and competitive online bachelor’s level programs.

SUNY Canton ranks in the top third of universities ranked by U.S. News and tied for 103rd on the Best Online Bachelor’s Programs list, moving up one spot from its 2024 ranking. The university also ranked 58th in Best Online Bachelor’s Programs for Veterans and 104th in Best Online Bachelor’s Programs in Business.
SUNY Canton Chancellor Peggy A. de Cooke emphasized the school’s focus on providing dynamic, real-world content and flexible teaching methods. “Our most popular programs meet students’ learning and living needs through online, in-person, or flex learning options,” she said. “This is a testament to our department’s hard work in developing high-quality, cutting-edge programs.”
SUNY Canton’s three most popular bachelor’s degrees are all offered online. For the fall 2024 semester, nearly 300 students enrolled in cybersecurity, more than 200 students enrolled in applied psychology, and nearly 200 students enrolled in healthcare management. The university also added a new four-year data science and analytics program as an extension of its successful cybersecurity program last year.
In addition, university headquarters selected two additional programs for ranking. The university’s Forensic Criminology and Law Bachelor’s degree programs earned 6th and 18th place in the rankings.
SUNY Canton faculty deliver online course content through the Brightspace learning management system, managed by the university’s Center for Learning Design, Innovation, and Online Instruction. In addition to 25 online degree programs, the university offers more than 450 online courses.
Tonka Jokerova, director of the center, said faculty are currently exploring unique ways to incorporate artificial intelligence into courses and student learning. “Many of our courses encourage students to use AI responsibly in analytical and creative work to prepare them for their future careers,” she said.
