1953 – 2025
Jennifer Lou Cupples passed away on January 10, 2025 at her home in Alpena at the age of 71.
Jenny was born in Detroit in 1953 and raised and educated in Oakland County. She was a natural athlete and excelled in many sports. As a child, she could hit a baseball farther than anyone in her neighborhood. She was on the tennis team in college. She also enjoyed teaching and coaching sports.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in human resources and recreation from Oakland University in 1975. After graduation, I was hired as an assistant director for Troy Parks and Recreation. After that, I started running my own wellness business. She loved being in management positions and having responsibility.
She found Alpena after retirement and enjoyed the area. She decided to make it her home.
Jenny is survived by two sisters, three nephews and family.
She will be remembered by her family as a fun, beautiful, athletic and intelligent person.
A private celebration of her life will be held with her immediate family.
