The University of Virginia’s College of Education and Human Development has once again been recognized for offering one of the best online graduate education programs in the country.
The school tied with four other schools for ninth place in U.S. News & World Report’s 2025 Best Online Programs rankings. Texas A&M University. University of Massachusetts Lowell. and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. The news organization surveyed more than 300 schools for its rankings.
All four of the school’s online programs ranked by U.S. News also ranked in the top 10.
Curriculum and Instruction: No. 7 Administration and Supervision: No. 5 Special Education: No. 7 Educational Media Design: No. 9
U.S. News also ranked the school’s online veteran education master’s program No. 2 based on overall program quality and economic benefit to veterans and active duty military.

The overall rankings are based on five categories: engagement, peer review, faculty qualifications and training, services and technology, and student excellence.
