St Andrews Links Trust is in talks to take over the long-term lease of The Dukes Course and add an eighth Championship layout to its stewardship at the home of golf.
The plan, which is expected to be finalized, will see The Links Trust take over management of Duke’s course later this year from the Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa, owned by US-based Kohler Corp. .
The clubhouse, driving range and other facilities on Duke’s grounds will also come under the management of the Lynx Trust, and the deal will provide additional playing opportunities for Lynx ticket holders and St. Andrews visitors. It turns out.
Located five miles outside St. Andrews with city views, The Dukes boasts an 18-hole heathland layout designed by five-time British Open champion Peter Thomson. Neil Coulson, Chief Executive of St Andrews Links Trust, said: Adding the Dukes Course to our portfolio increases tee time availability for ticket holders and visitors, while maintaining the tradition and excellence that is synonymous with St Andrews.
