We love Walmart storage baskets โ Lina has 7 ways to use them!
I love how baskets are functional yet beautiful decorative pieces that create a cozy atmosphere in a space. I have many baskets around the house that I sometimes use as planters or to organize bulky items of all sizes.
One of my favorite baskets is this large Better Homes & Gardens wicker basket from Walmart. Very nice quality, very large, and priced under $20. This basket has been highly rated online and I’m not the only fan as our Hip2Save CEO/Owner Collin also owns this basket.
Here are some ideas to help you stay organized using storage baskets from Walmart.
1.) Organize all your dog’s toys.
We like to spoil our fur babies with lots of fun toys throughout the house. They are usually scattered all over the floor during the day, but can be easily contained using baskets. Plus, my dog โโcan grab them if he wants.
2.) Leave it by the door for your shoes.
Does your home have a no-shoes policy? If so, this versatile storage basket will hold plenty of shoes. It’s a good idea to leave it by the door so everyone can toss their shoes in the basket so they don’t touch the floor.
3.) Corral all your stuffed animals.
Stuffed animals can be difficult to store. My kids are teenagers and still collect them. This large basket is a smart and tidy way to keep stuffed animals off the floor. If you have young children, you can use them for trucks, dolls, books, etc.
4.) Use it as a laundry basket.
Use a dirty laundry basket by placing the basket inside your bedroom or closet space. With handles on both sides, it is very easy to carry to the laundry room and is lightweight. It’s also a nice option to tuck it into the guest bedroom in case your guests want to do a load of laundry.
5.) Organize extra blankets and cushions.
Are you also a little picky about a comfortable throw blanket? If you don’t want to pile up tons of blankets on the couch, put them in a large storage basket. I roll them up and keep some in a basket next to the TV. This way both the blanket and the basket can be easily stored and quickly retrieved when needed.
6.) Keep pool towels handy.
We love spending time by the pool, so it’s great to have it somewhere easily accessible for the kids and guests. I keep it on my patio and keep the colorful Mainstays pool towels I bought at Walmart in it. Also, the open basket design allows water drops and splashes to drain away quickly. This large open weave basket is also perfect for this purpose. Scroll down to see photos.
7.) Create thoughtful gift baskets for any occasion or holiday.
Make someone’s day and fill this basket with small gifts for that special friend or family member. This vehicle also makes a great gift if you attach a ribbon to it. I used this at Christmas to give as a “Bali basket” for the cold season. It includes blankets, cozy socks, candles, coffee mugs, chocolates, and more. (All from Walmart to make it affordable!)
