The lobby of the recently opened Palm House Hotel at 160 Royal Palm Way in Palm Beach has a dramatic vaulted ceiling and doubles as a lounge and bar area. The hotel opened just before Thanksgiving in 2024, but only 36 of its 79 rooms were eligible for a temporary certificate of occupancy issued by City Hall. On Dec. 20, town officials gave the green light for public use of the remaining 43 rooms.

In the lobby of the Palm House, artist Krista Wilm, originally from Palm Beach, designed a wall installation featuring thousands of seashells. This represents the ocean less than a block away. Wilm owns Christa’s South Seashells in West Palm Beach. Overhead you can see one of the lobby’s chandeliers made of hand-blown Murano glass in light coral.
