Georgia quarterback Carson Beck has entered the transfer portal, multiple sources tell On3. The two-time national champion will immediately become the top quarterback in the transfer portal. Beck previously announced plans to enter the 2025 NFL Draft, but will instead become a college football free agent.
Beck officially entered the transfer portal Thursday night with a no-contact sign, which usually means an athlete knows which schools they want to consider.
Sources say there are three teams to watch, with Miami School getting the most attention initially.
Beck injured his right elbow UCL in the SEC Championship Game and missed the second half. He missed Georgia’s College Football Playoff run and missed the Allstate Sugar Bowl. He recently underwent surgery to repair his arm.
The former four-star rookie was considered a potential first-round NFL Draft selection entering this season. He struggled at times, throwing 28 touchdowns and 12 interceptions for 3,485 yards. He threw three interceptions in three different games.
Carson Beck is currently in recovery and training mode, preparing for the 2025 season. He is expected to be one of the highest-paid transfers in college football history. The Jacksonville native has one year of eligibility remaining and is expected to evaluate several quarterback-needy teams as a potential transfer target.
The Bulldogs went 11-3 on the season and won their second SEC title since 2022. He threw for 7,912 yards and 58 touchdowns in his career at Georgia. He won’t be able to start pitching until spring.
“If you look at the stats, obviously they’re not the same stats as last year,” Georgia offensive coordinator Mike Bobo said recently of Beck. “But if you’re in this league, the goal is to win an SEC championship. And he was the quarterback of the team that got us to that game and got us to that position.”
