Los Angeles:
A small plane crashed into a commercial building in California on Thursday, killing at least two people and injuring 18 others, police said.
The accident occurred in the early afternoon near Fullerton Municipal Airport, 25 miles (40 kilometers) southeast of Los Angeles. The cause remains unknown.
Fullerton police announced that “two people have been confirmed dead” at the X.

Additionally, 10 people were hospitalized and eight others were treated at the scene.
Investigators do not yet know whether the victim was a passenger on the plane or an employee of the building where the crash occurred, a police officer told local broadcaster KTLA.
Television footage showed a large hole in the roof of the building and smoke pouring out.

Jerome Cruz, one of the workers who witnessed the scene, told CBS News: “All you hear is a loud bang, a bang, and that’s it. And then they start running out of the building.”
The Federal Aviation Administration, which initiated the investigation, said the plane was a small four-seat RV-10 single-engine van.
Two people were injured in another accident near the Fullerton Airport in November.
