The NFL announced the roster for the 2025 Pro Bowl game on Thursday morning. Players were selected from 28 of the 32 teams, with the Baltimore Ravens leading the way with nine selections, followed by the Detroit Lions (seven), Minnesota Vikings (six), Philadelphia Eagles (six), The Dallas Cowboys (5) and Kansas City Chiefs followed. (5).
The four teams not represented are the Miami Dolphins, New Orleans Saints, New York Jets, and Tennessee Titans. These teams may end up having players substituted.
The 2025 Pro Bowl Game will be held again in Orlando on February 2nd and will feature players competing in skills contests as well as a flag football game coached by Peyton and Eli Manning.
Notable players missing include Lions safety Kirby Joseph, the NFL’s interception leader. He finished first in fan voting for free safety, but was not one of three to make the Pro Bowl. Joseph’s teammate, strong safety Brian Branch, who finished second in fan voting, joined the team.
Joseph posted a GIF on X Wednesday showing how confused he was by the decision.
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes did not make the AFC roster for the first time since making the Pro Bowl as a starter in the NFL. Meanwhile, Baker Mayfield of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will not be going to Orlando.
One rookie who will be sidelined will be Brian Thomas Jr. of the Jacksonville Jaguars. The wide receiver ranks fifth in the NFL in receiving yards (1,179) and is tied for fifth with 10 touchdowns this season.
While Thomas was sidelined, 24 other rookies made the AFC roster, including Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers and Los Angeles Rams linebacker Jared Verse. Jayden Daniels of the Washington Commanders joins an NFC team, becoming the fourth rookie quarterback to make a Pro Bowl roster since 1970.
