Troy Mayor Carmela Mantello announced Monday that she wanted to reallocate about $5 million in federal rescue plan funds, which the City Council approved later in the day at a special meeting just before the funding deadline.
Mantello announced that more than $3.6 million in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds will be directed to improve and revitalize Flair Park, as well as additional funding for the city’s lead pipe replacement program and ambulance project.
The Flair Park revitalization project includes playground improvements on North Lake Avenue, ADA compliance and code-related changes, tennis court upgrades, new community and restaurant facilities, and more, but the project is prioritized. must be attached.
Mantello said the $5 million comes from projects that either came within budget or “will not materialize and will not meet the necessary deadlines for completion.”
AARP funding must be obligated under contract by Tuesday, December 31, 2024. The city received $42 million in ARPA funding. The project must be completed within two years starting Tuesday.
