Suncap Bank announces promotions and recruitment
Sanibel Captiva Community Bank recently promoted Senior Credit Analyst Rachel Flores to Vice President and hired Sandy Innes as Mortgage Operations Manager and Leslie Donfrancesco-St. Paul. Announced. Jean is the teller.
Mr. Flores will be based at the Bridge branch in Fort Myers and will continue in his role analyzing financial statements, assessing credit risk and recommending appropriate loan structures.
She joined the bank in July and has nearly 20 years of experience in commercial and residential underwriting and credit analysis. Mr. Flores previously held the position of Senior Credit Analyst at a regional financial institution in Southwest Florida.
She graduated from the University of North Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in Finance and Financial Services.
Innes will be based at the Bridge and Downtown branches in Fort Myers. She will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Mortgage Operations department. Innes manages loan coordinators and loan processors while streamlining workflows and increasing efficiency.
She joins the bank with more than 20 years of experience in mortgage processing, underwriting and management. Mr. Innes most recently served as a senior mortgage underwriter for a large regional bank. Throughout her career, she has served in a variety of roles including mortgage processing manager, loan originator, mortgage processor, and trainer. In previous roles, Ines was recognized as a top mortgage processor and recognized for outstanding customer service and leadership skills.
Located at our headquarters on Don Francesco Street Sanibel. Jean is responsible for supporting customers with personal and corporate banking transactions.
She has an extensive background in retail management, real estate, restaurant operations, and banking. Don Francesco-St. Jean’s previous positions include restaurant manager, real estate broker, and most recently, store manager for a major women’s clothing retailer.
Chamber of Commerce report on growth and success
John Lai, president and CEO of the SunCap Chamber of Commerce, recently reported to the board that membership has increased from 121 full members in 2023 to 452 in 2024.
He attributed this growth to the work and dedication of the Board and staff, the support of the business community and the value the Chamber continues to provide. Mr. Lai reported that demand for the Chamber’s services continues to trend upward, as evidenced by an increase in web visits, Wonder Map downloads, and visitor center foot traffic.
He highlighted the success of the new Paradise Conservation Leadership Program. Other accomplishments in 2024 include 46 ribbon cuttings, reinstatement of the annual council meeting and awards, partnership with the City of Sanibel in its 50th Anniversary Plan, the first Island Nation Declaration, and the return of the Luminary Stroll. Looking to the future, Lai expressed optimism for the continuation of hurricane recovery efforts. He reported that more than 42% of the hotel’s room inventory is expected to be available by February and 65% by December.
