Lupe Hintz scored his team-leading 15th point to help the Dallas Stars defeat Utah 3-2 on Monday night.
Hintz scored the game-tying goal at 1-1 12:39 into the second period. Jamie Benn and Colin Blackwell also scored for Dallas, and Casey DeSmith had 24 goals.
The Stars have lost their second straight game.
Kevin Stenlund and Barrett Hayton scored for Utah, and Karel Weimerka made 27 saves. Utah State won just one home game in December.
Dallas took the lead in the first inning when Blackwell scored after a Utah turnover. Stenlund responded with his sixth goal of the season at 12:41.
Benn made his seventh with 2:10 left in the second to give the Stars a 3-1 lead.
Utah got one back with Hayton’s goal with 8:21 left in the third, but couldn’t get the tying goal.
