Fort Worth’s historic fire station is getting a chance at a new life.
Fire Station No. 5 at 503 Bryan Avenue in Cowtown’s Magnolia neighborhood will receive a new $26.5 million Nobleman Hotel, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
The Nobleman Hotel and its signature restaurant, Duchess, are scheduled to open in 2025, anchored by Fire Station No. 5.
Duchess offers a new American menu with Texas influences. The menu, curated by North Texas hospitality executive and “Top Chef” contestant Casey Thompson, will feature steak, seafood, pasta and a drink menu.
The Star-Telegram reported that the restaurant’s design preserves the interior of the fire station, including the old firefighter pulley system and metal accents. Duchess will feature a 56-seat dining room and bar.
The fire station was built in 1910 by architects Sanguinette & Staats, who designed nearly every high-rise building built in Fort Worth before 1930, according to the Texas Historical Society.
The Nobleman Hotel is part of the Hilton Tapestry Collection and boasts 121 rooms and 32 suites surrounding the fire station. Since the city sold it more than 40 years ago, Fire Station No. 5 space has been used as Higginbotham’s office building and Black Eyed Vodka Distillery.
