From award-winning alumni, faculty, and students to rankings as the world’s best universities and setting new records in research, the North Carolina State University College of Education is committed to innovation, interdisciplinarity, and interdisciplinarity. We have focused our efforts on strategic priority areas. Inclusion for a transformative impact on the education sector in 2024. Here are some highlights from the past year.
Enhanced student experience.
We welcomed the largest number of undergraduate students in at least a decade. We welcomed 121 new teaching fellows, the most in North Carolina. We welcome 12 first-year students to the third class of the Transformation Scholars Program, an innovative teacher preparation program in Eastern North Carolina supported by Anonymous Trust. We launched Elevate, a new comprehensive post-secondary education program in North Carolina. We welcomed 12 new faculty members, including Devin Kearns, the first Goodnight Distinguished Professor of Early Literacy. Three faculty members received NSF CAREER grants, the largest amount in a single year. For the first time, research funding exceeded $20 million, setting a university record. We launched four interdisciplinary research hubs and two innovation fellows programs. We celebrated the fifth anniversary of the Belk Center for Community College Leadership and Research. We celebrated the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Institute for Educational Innovation on Friday. We have graduated over 435 new graduates and continue to help others realize their dreams. U.S. News’ Best Global Universities Subject Rankings ranked it No. 1 in North Carolina, No. 21 in the United States, and No. 60 in the world for teaching and educational research.

Our alumni, faculty, staff, and students have received more than 20 awards and honors. We bring together educators and leaders from across the country to discuss pressing education issues through events such as the AI in Education Summit, the Dallas Herring Lecture, and the North Carolina Literacy Leadership Retreat.
Thanks to our donors…
Five new scholarships have been established. On North Carolina State University’s 2024 Giving Day, we received 992 gifts. This is the largest gift the university has ever received on this day. We provided students with high-impact experiences through mini-grants, summer internships, study abroad programs, and more.
