On Tuesday, Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior won FIFA’s male player of the year award, while Barcelona’s Aitana Bommatti was named female player of the year for the second time.
Vinicius lost out on the Ballon d’Or to Manchester City’s Rodri in October, but won the top title in Qatar.
The Madrid star received 43 votes, beating Rodri by five votes, who received 48 votes. Jude Bellingham came in third place with 37 votes.
Manchester United forward Alejandro Garnacho won the Puskas Award for Goal of the Year for his sensational overhead kick against Everton last November.
Former Chelsea manager and current U.S. Women’s National Team coach Emma Hayes was named Women’s Coach of the Year after winning the Women’s Super League and then winning gold at the Paris Olympics with the U.S. team.
Hayes also won the Ballon d’Or Coach of the Year award last month.
Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti was named manager of the year after his team won the Champions League and La Liga last season.
