Style Edit: Cartier brings the magic of Christmas to its renovated boutique at Lee Garden Five in Causeway Bay. Architectural firm Moinard Betaille has created an elegant homage to Hong Kong.
With meticulously appointed interiors, impeccable service and, of course, an unparalleled selection of attractive products. cartier Boutiques are sacred spaces for lovers of luxury. But the storied Parisian jewelry store at Lee Garden Five in Causeway Bay has reached new heights of sophistication with recent upgrades.
The newly renovated store was unveiled at a glittering opening party on Friday, December 13th. The 839 square meter duplex has been re-emerged as a striking visual homage to the city it calls home.
Conceptualized by French architecture firm Moinard Bétaille, the boutique’s design features unmistakable local touches, including traditional junk sails, Chinese birdcages from local markets, and the towering structures that define Hong Kong’s skyline. Its features reflect the shape of the landmark and incorporate Hong Kong’s culture. Skyline – A rich homage to the lush greenery of the city’s mountains.
Inside, visitors encounter a series of themed areas, each presenting a unique aesthetic element to Hong Kong. Guests enter the boutique located in the Feminine Universe area. This area is inspired by Chinese gardens and features a straw marquetry orchid mural created in collaboration with French painter Cédric Pelletier.
Straw parquet makes a reappearance in the Unisex & Masculine Universe space, with the house’s trademark panthers ruling the roost in vibrant blue hues reminiscent of Hong Kong’s seaside. A nod to the Prestige Universe, a different element of local culture. Cartier high jewelery collection – Features a triptych of lacquered wooden wall panels designed by Atelier Midavain in Paris depicting birds flying around the Tree of Life.
The grand staircase, inspired by a greenhouse, leads to the upper floor, which features a 6-metre-high stucco bas-relief wall depicting three Cartier Panthères wandering through a classic Hong Kong landscape.
