SPOKANE, Wash. – A unique idea is renovating an old building in downtown Spokane and breathing new life into the area. South Howard’s historic Simmons Block is now accepting reservations for a small luxury hotel.
Simmons Block is a project led by Alyssa Agee and will be a nine-room luxury hotel.
“I want to be here and be part of the solution,” Agee said. “Because I love things that are unique and different.”
The Downtown Spokane Partnership (DSP) sees this as part of a growing trend. Emily Cameron, president and CEO of DSP, also mentioned the Russo, a smaller luxury hotel under the Davenport Collection just two blocks away.
“Louis (Russo), as he will soon be known, will be another great asset to our inventory as we welcome visitors here downtown,” Cameron said.
The Russo is scheduled to open in February, adding to Spokane’s budding ultra-luxury hotel scene. Simmons Block will officially open in January.
Rooms at Simmons Block will range from $99 to $250 per night, depending on the room and date selected, Agee said.
