U.S. News & World Report identified 414 hospitals as having a strong track record for access to obstetric care. This year, more hospitals submitted obstetric care data than in previous years.
U.S. News & World Report announced its 2025 list of hospitals with easy access to obstetric care and hospitals with high performance in obstetric care, according to a press release from the magazine.
New for 2025, U.S. News researchers have incorporated additional pathways for hospitals to demonstrate their commitment to breastfeeding, with a focus on severe and unanticipated complications instead of the overall unanticipated complications previously used. “These high-performing hospitals provide exceptional care to expectant parents, have significantly lower C-section rates, and fewer unexpected and severe cases than hospitals not recognized by U.S. News. It has been demonstrated that severe neonatal complications occur,” Winston said.
