Global version
LPGA Commissioner Molly Marcoux-Saman has announced her resignation and will do so on January 9, three weeks before the start of the LPGA Tour’s 75th season.
Liz Moore, the LPGA’s chief legal and technical officer, will serve as interim commissioner until a permanent replacement is recruited.
Marcou Samaan held this position for three and a half years starting in April 2021. She previously served as Princeton University’s athletic director.
“As the LPGA seeks continued growth, I will continue to pursue my passion for developing leaders, uniting communities, and creating value through sports, especially women’s sports, while also supporting three amazing individuals who are making their dreams come true.” It’s time to spend more time cheering on our children’s sports,” Marcou Samaan said in a statement.
Prize money on the LPGA Tour has increased by more than 90% during Marcou Samaan’s tenure, with the five women’s majors totaling at least $47 million in prize money in 2025, up from $23 million in 2021.
Next year, LPGA players will compete for a record prize pool of $127.5 million, per the recently announced 2025 Tour schedule.
