Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Office officials are asking for the public’s help in identifying the owner of an Italian luxury sedan involved in multiple catalytic converter thefts.
Detectives investigating the incidents said the crimes occurred between Nov. 23 and Wednesday, when vehicles left the scene of eight catalytic converter thefts in Canyon Country, Valencia/Sagus and Stevenson Ranch. It is said that it was observed.
Detectives are looking for the owner of the dark gray four-door sedan, believed to be a 2015-2019 Maserati Quattroporte. This sedan features chrome wheels and dark window tint.
The affected models are Toyota Prius, Toyota Corolla, and Toyota Tacoma.
The theft occurred in the early morning hours, and law enforcement officials are asking for help identifying the vehicle and its occupants.
Officials with the SCV Sheriff’s Office have long viewed catalytic converter theft as a popular local crime and have shared the following advice during previous spikes in incidents:
Please park in a well-lit area with surveillance cameras. Weld the catalytic converter bolts closed. Engraving or etching the license plate number onto the catalytic converter. Having a license plate number engraved on your catalytic converter will help law enforcement identify the original owner if your catalytic converter is stolen and recovered. Always report suspicious activity. If you see something, say something.
If anyone has information about the vehicle, please contact Detective Kevin Fleck at 661-287-5609 or via email. (email protected).
