Last week, the doors opened at Rough Lucerne, Rough Golf’s first indoor golf facility in Switzerland.
The Sweden-based company plans to open five RUFF venues in Switzerland over the next five years, with the next one opening in Bern on December 8th.
Rough Golf sold its 10-year master franchise rights in Switzerland to Austrian Markus Gagle earlier this year, and the country’s first indoor facility opened on November 23rd.
RUFF Lucerne features five Trackman simulators, a practice putting green and food and beverage outlets, and the new venue in Bern will feature the same facilities.
Alex Bengtsson, CEO of RUFF Golf, said: “The opening of RUFF Lucerne is another step in our journey as a leader in European golf entertainment.Indoor golf is still a relatively new phenomenon in Switzerland, as in many other parts of Europe, but I We see great growth potential and look forward to opening more RUFF facilities in Switzerland in the near future.”
Rough Golf already has three locations in the DACH region and 11 locations in Sweden through franchise agreements. In December, RUFF Düsseldorf will also open, and at least six more are expected to open in Dach next year.
Bengtsson added: “Interest in golf is growing, and for the game to grow further we need new ways to play and interact.” That’s exactly what RUFF offers. We want to revolutionize golf and make it more accessible. ”
