Hart’s Mountain Industries is building 250 new luxury apartments in Cranford, with plans to welcome the first residents as early as early next year.
Located at 750 Walnut Avenue, the development revitalizes the site of a vacant, aging office building just north of the Hyatt Hills Golf Complex and less than a mile from the Garden State Parkway. Hertz is currently marketing the one- and two-bedroom units to prospective renters, touting the property’s accessible location and upscale amenities.
Move-in is scheduled to start in February.
“Our goal is to bring a fresh, contemporary approach to residential living in Cranford,” said Gus Milano, President and Chief Operating Officer of Hearts Mountain. “The new development at 750 Walnut Avenue not only meets the area’s growing demand for housing, but also offers a lifestyle that combines comfort, convenience and community.”
March Associates Construction is the general contractor for what is known as Cranford’s Fairways, which was designed by Minno & Wasko Architects and Planners. Secaucus-based Hertz sought to redevelop the property as far back as 2017, resulting in a project that would help Cranford meet state-mandated affordable housing obligations.
The 13.5-acre complex includes a landscaped courtyard with grilling stations, a resident lounge with dining table and bar seating, and a theater room, according to a news release. Residents will also have access to a club room with outdoor access, a fully equipped fitness center, and a coworking space with private meeting rooms, and each building will have a lobby and ample parking with electric vehicle charging stations.
Hertz noted that Fairways at Cranford is also minutes from the New Jersey Transit Cranford Station and the town’s central business district.
Milano added, “We are excited to introduce Cranford Fairways to this vibrant community.” “Our goal is to create spaces where residents can enjoy the comforts of a modern, thoughtfully designed home while feeling connected to their neighbors and the vibrant town of Cranford. We look forward to contributing to the growth and energy of the region and maintaining its appeal.”
The complex is adjacent to two newly developed warehouses at 730 and 740 Walnut Avenue. The company announced in September that it had pre-opened the latter, a 109,200-square-foot facility, in preparation for a 132,000-square-foot second phase sale.
