Create a simple homemade stew pot stovetop potpourri with herbs, fruits, and extracts to add heavenly scents to your home in a beautiful, natural way.
Has your house ever smelled like a mix of last night’s dinner and a teenager’s gym socks? 😜
Refresh yourself with the scents of these three DIY natural stovetop sitter pots. It will make your space smell very fresh and pleasant. A great way to utilize herbs and extracts you already have at home. Braising pots are also a clever way to save and reuse lemon and orange peels that you would normally throw away.
You can enjoy the aroma just by boiling some simple ingredients!
All three recipes have the same steps. Fill the pot with about 4-5 cups of water. Put the ingredients in a pot, turn the stove to medium heat, and simmer until it comes to a gentle boil. Reduce heat and simmer over low heat. Your home will start smelling amazing. Keep an eye on the water level and add more if necessary.
If you don’t feel comfortable keeping the stove on, consider putting the ingredients in the slow cooker instead.

Here are my top three favorite homemade stovetop potpourri scents that I personally enjoy at home.
1.) DIY Williams Sonoma Scented Stove Top Potpourri
When you walk into a Williams Sonoma store, you’re filled with an inviting citrus-rosemary aroma. Their signature stew pot scent is easy to recreate at home and smells so fresh and wonderful.
I happen to have rosemary in my backyard, so I make it often. Consider saving lemon slices when cooking and using them for this purpose.

2.) Pumpkin Spice Stove Top Potpourri
If the warm scent of apple and cinnamon is your jam, create this easy pumpkin spice scent for a cozy fall vibe. This gives your space an inviting scent, perfect for the cooler months.
Consider using apples that are past their prime. Or you can always swap out apple cider for a similar scent.

Tips for making homemade stovetop potpourri:
When purchasing ingredients at the grocery store, look for cheaper brands that are sold in packs rather than spice jars. My store has a Hispanic food section with inexpensive packs of cinnamon sticks, whole cloves, and anise. Enjoy the scent by using what grows naturally around you. The best part is that you can improvise and come up with your own variations. If you wish, you can reuse potpourri ingredients used on the stove. Remove it from the water, put it in a jar and put it in the refrigerator. Then, the next day, throw it into fresh water. I ran this and it worked!
