FORT LAUDERDALE — Police say A man and a woman are found shot to death in a luxury Hallandale Beach condominium. Earlier this week, foreign media reported that they were a Kosovar Albanian couple.
On Friday, Hallandale Beach police announced that the men and women whose bodies were found early Wednesday morning were 34-year-old Pajtim Kasniqi and 27-year-old Sabrina Kasniqi. They were Kosovar Albanians, according to Albanian newspaper Gazeta Tema.
Around 12:30 a.m., Hallandale Beach Police were dispatched to a ShotSpotter alert indicating multiple gunshots near the 1800 block of South Ocean Dr. When officers arrived at the high-rise apartment building at 1830 South Ocean Dr., they found the body of a man. A man and a woman; both had been shot. This building was one of three in the complex.
Someone called 911 about the shooting and said they heard multiple gunshots and saw two people lying on a balcony.
The shooting occurred in an upper floor unit. Chopper 4 was over the scene and spotted investigators coming in and out of the scene.
Through their investigation, Hallandale Beach police learned that Sabrina shot and killed her husband, Pajtim, multiple times before taking her own life. According to police, the apartment where the suspect was discovered was an apartment complex.
Hallandale Beach police have not released details about what led to the apparent murder-suicide.
Pazitim’s sister, Albana Krasniqi Manlet, said she and her family spent Thanksgiving week heartbroken over the tragedy.
“The person he trusted the most, the person he chose to spend his life with, was the one he walked away from,” she posted on Facebook, sharing a photo of him. “(Sabrina) betrayed him, his love, his trust. She destroyed my family. My siblings and I will never be the same. I fear my mother will never recover. is.”
“HBPD extends its deepest condolences to the family and loved ones affected by this heartbreaking incident,” officials said.
