What does luxury mean to you?
Yelp and other review sites regularly create “best of” lists of restaurants, from the best burgers to the best seafood. When I write about one of them, it’s not uncommon for me to receive messages and emails from all over. But after this article about what Yelp considers Wilmington’s most “exclusive” restaurant, the messages took on a decidedly irritated tone. Understood! This is an unusual group of eateries, and some of the local eateries that I consider to be the most elegant were not mentioned. There’s a reason why many restaurateurs hate such review sites. But I will say that if you had a similar reaction, that might be reason enough to give your favorite local spot a positive review. It might help!

further along the way
The holiday season is officially here, but the local food scene is still going strong. And change continues to occur. It looks like two more new restaurants could open in the Porter’s Neck area by the end of the year. Check it out here. And it looks like we’re in for a quick turnaround with the end of Bull City Cider Works in Wilmington’s Freight District and the beginning of something new there.
