Today on Dubhub:
Moses Moody has faced an uphill battle for consistent playing time since joining the Golden State Warriors in 2021. On Monday against the Brooklyn Nets, Moody led all scorers in the first half with 15 points off the bench. He made 6 of 7 field goals, including three 3-pointers, in nine minutes in the second quarter.
However, despite an impressive start to the game, Moody was unable to play again until late in the third quarter and did not score any extra points for the rest of the game. He ended up playing a total of 16 minutes to finish the night. After the match, Moody reflected on the challenge of finding his rhythm, calling it a “luxury” he had yet to experience in his career.
Moses Moody talked about how important rhythm is after not starting the second half despite scoring 15 points in nine minutes of the second quarter.
“This is not a luxury I’ve had throughout my career, so I’ve had to think about how to play whenever I get the opportunity. I just deal with it… pic.twitter.com/ ts0onp6b90

This season, Moody is averaging 8.6 points in 16.9 minutes per game. He is shooting 41.3 percent from the field on 3.7 attempts per game this season, but his recent shooting slump has seen his percentage drop to 28 percent over the past 10 games before Monday’s game against Brooklyn.
The three-year, $39 million contract extension Moody signed before the season hinted at a larger role within the team. But for now, it looks like Moody will continue to struggle for consistent playing time in head coach Steve Kerr’s deep rotation.

Warriors news:
Warriors are big again with Moses Moody | SF Gate
For Moody, being on Golden State’s bench was, in a nutshell, an experience. Throughout his career as a Warrior, Moody has repeatedly acknowledged his inconsistent playing time without assigning any blame, with truly admirable restraint. In return, Kerr said Moody should be given more time, at least publicly. In mid-October, the coach even said, “He’s going to be a big part for us,” but general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. eclipsed those expectations in April. Following those statements, the team signed him to a three-year, $39 million contract extension.
But those words ring hollow unless they are followed by on-court corrective action (beyond a new contract, of course). That statement rings even more hollow since the behavior in question is simply a desire for more consistent playing time. .

“After the game we all know the mistake we made,” Rooney said. “When it comes to Stack and Terry, they were calling out every single one of them.
“Today we went back to basic principles. We hope to do better for Oklahoma City.”
Ah, that’s right. The Oklahoma City Thunder, who are in first place in the West and one game ahead of the Warriors, will be in the Chase on Wednesday.
“We’re not doing a lot of physical stuff, we’re not doing a lot of contact,” Kerr said, summing up Monday’s agenda. “But we have to go over the basics and fundamentals on both ends. Once we do that, it will show in the next game.”
Month-long gauntlet shows if Warriors are true contenders | NBC Sports Bay Area
This concludes 23 games where the Warriors’ opponents currently have a combined record of 136 wins, 91 losses, and a winning percentage of 59.1. The only Western Conference team to finish below .500 in those games is the Timberwolves, who are 8-9. The only team they will face in the Eastern Conference is the Pacers, who are 8-10 and look like they could easily make an upset.

Lead is not safe. The Warriors have been good so far, but they lost two wins to the Spurs and Nets in heartbreaking fashion. They blew a 17-point lead at 13:55 in the final in San Antonio, but looked tired on the second night of back-to-back games. In the final 19 minutes and 13 seconds of the game, the Nets had a 19-point lead. For the first time since April 2000, the Warriors lost consecutive games despite leading by at least 15 points in each game. The fact that the Warriors’ upcoming schedule is extremely difficult makes these losses even more painful. The next eight games will be against Oklahoma City, Phoenix, Denver, Houston, Minnesota and Memphis. — Uhm Young Mi-sook

Durant, Beal lead Suns’ big 3 in loss to Lakers | ESPN

Suns: With Durant and Beal back on the court, Phoenix looked more like its old self. Nurkic bounced back from a slump from start to finish, finishing with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Grayson Allen added 10 points off the bench and Royce O’Neal had nine points on three 3-pointers as the Suns built a second-half lead.
The NBA can tinker with the All-Star Game all it wants, but there’s only one solution | The Athletic
Oh wait. I thought of an even better change. This idea to end all ideas would make the All-Star Game great. This is such an obvious solution that it’s hard to believe that no one in the NBA hasn’t thought of this. Sure, this could work, but it might actually sound like a crazy idea.
play hard.
75 if not 100 percent. If not the whole game, then half. Even just the last quarter.
boom. Problem solved.
Format changes are nothing more than cellophane tape. Contrived gimmicks like slathering barbecue sauce on dry beef hide the real problem. What everyone wants is to see the best players compete seriously.
