Marriott International’s Luxury Group and auction house Sotheby’s are expanding their partnership after the success of their first collaboration earlier this year. The partnership is focused on delivering an exclusive experience at a luxury sales event in New York this December.
The Luxury Group and Sotheby’s will be auctioning two unique experiences that combine high-quality hospitality with exquisite treasures from Sotheby’s auctions. The first, “Geneva Grandmasters: A Watchmaking Adventure Curated by The Ritz-Carlton,” offers watch enthusiasts an exclusive opportunity to immerse themselves in horology at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel de la Paix in Geneva. This includes a hands-on workshop with watch brand Girard-Perregaux, access to limited-edition watches, and a private culinary experience at the brand’s ancestor, Villa Girard-Perregaux in La Chaux-de-Fonds. This experience will be featured at Sotheby’s Important Watches Sale on December 6th.
The second experience, “Taste of France: A Gastronomic Journey Curated by The Luxury Collection,” allows guests to explore the gastronomic treasures of France. The journey begins at the Prince de Galles, a Luxury Collection hotel in Paris, before taking a guided day trip to the historic house of Champagne L’Allier in Ay to taste the latest harvest. This will be followed by afternoon tea with global explorer, renowned chef and artist Laila Gohar. The experience is currently accepting online bids until December 10th.
The collaboration will also feature selected events and exclusive content when the Sotheby’s exhibition opens to the public on December 5th. The partnership is expected to expand around the world, with further product offerings from The Luxury Group and Sotheby’s expected in 2025.
George Hammer, global head of luxury marketing at Marriott International, said the expanded partnership with Sotheby’s reflects a shared belief in the synergy of tangible and intangible luxury. Eleonore Dethier, Head of Global Partnerships at Sotheby’s, said the partnership is a unique fusion of Sotheby’s expertise in curating exceptional luxury collections and the luxury group’s approach to hospitality.
