US Vice President Kamala Harris broke her silence on Tuesday after losing the recently concluded presidential election to Donald Trump, releasing a video in which she appears sad and depressed.
“I want to remind you, don’t let others take your power away from you. You have the same power you had before November 5th,” she said in a video to her supporters, urging President-elect Donald Trump. He spoke while referring to the date of the presidential election in which he lost.
Over the past three weeks, Mr. Trump has advanced transition activities and announced a number of cabinet appointments. He is poised to take power on January 20, 2025.
The video showed her wearing professional attire, looking tired as she delivered the 28-second message.
“And you have the same purpose that you did. And you have the same ability to engage and inspire,” she continued. “So never let anyone or any situation take away your power.”
The motive behind the vice president’s encouraging message remains unclear, but social media users are questioning her state of mind.
“Did you drink?” actor Kevin Sorbo asked in an X post in response to the Democrat’s video. Meanwhile, another user said: “Oh she looks rough. Did she drink too much?”
“Is it really appropriate to wear a girlfriend when you’re obviously drunk?” another user commented.
The vice president has not ruled out the possibility of becoming president in the future. Biden’s last presidential campaign in 2020 ended before the Iowa caucuses, after which Biden selected her as his running mate.
Her first public appearance with Biden since the election was on Nov. 11 at a Veterans Day ceremony at Arlington Cemetery, and two days later the Bidens welcomed Trump at the White House. .
