Louisville residents and guests are encouraged to shop local to support small businesses over Thanksgiving weekend.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — With the holiday season approaching, the River City Parking Authority is encouraging Louisville residents to shop locally and in person.
PARC offers free on-street metered parking on Saturdays for small businesses.
“Louisville is full of great small businesses that make our city unique and special,” said Mayor Craig Greenberg. “We hope residents and visitors can take advantage of this gift when shopping for gifts locally this holiday season.”
PARC has installed meters in many locations, including downtown, NuLu, along Bardstown Road and along Frankfort Avenue.
If you want to make the most of one location, the Louisville Independent Business Alliance is hosting HoLOUdays with Small Business Saturday events in South Louisville and West Louisville.
The event will be held at Colonial Gardens on West Kenwood Drive from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., followed by West Louisville’s Small Business Saturday at the Norton Healthcare Sports Center from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. It will be held at the And Learning Center.
There will also be vendors from nearby areas, giveaways and activities for children.
