McDonald’s has announced its most significant menu overhaul in years, with a focus on value meals and in-app sales.
The $5 worth of meals McDonald’s introduced in the summer will become a permanent feature at most restaurants. The $5 meal includes small fries, four pieces of Chicken McNuggets, a small soft drink, and your choice of a McDouble or McChicken sandwich. Top rivals Burger King and Wendy’s offer similar promotions.

The new menu will also include a breakfast component. McDonald’s will begin offering buy-one-get-one-get-one breakfast items for $1, including Sausage McMuffins, Sausage Biscuits, Sausage Burritos and Hash Browns.
McDonald’s will also offer a buy-one-add $1 deal on lunch and dinner items such as six-piece Chicken McNuggets, double cheeseburgers, McChickens and small fries.

McDonald’s also said local restaurants will offer deals to locals on the company’s mobile app.
McDonald’s saw a significant increase in customer traffic in the first week after launching its $5 meal deal on June 25, according to data from Placer.ai. McDonald’s is one of the restaurants that said the price hikes may have driven some consumers down on prices during a period of high inflation.
