Sean Duffy appears in the real world of Washington, D.C., where Donald Trump has nominated the Fox Business host and former Wisconsin congressman to be Secretary of Transportation. Duffy will replace Pete Buttigieg, who was chosen by incumbent President Biden to lead the department during his administration.
Duffy has become Trump’s second Fox personality. The president-elect previously announced that “Fox & Friends Weekend” co-host Pete Hegseth would be named secretary of defense. Unlike Hegseth, Duffy has legislative experience, having served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2011 to 2019. He resigned in 2019 for personal reasons, revealing that his newborn daughter had been diagnosed with a heart defect.
Prior to his 2010 House campaign, Duffy was appointed district attorney for Ashland County, Wisconsin in 2002.
Duffy first came to the public eye in her late 20s when she starred in the sixth season of MTV’s groundbreaking reality TV series, The Real World: Boston. He also competed on the first season of “The Challenge” known as “Road Rules: All Stars” in 1998, where he met his wife Rachel Campos. He joined Fox Business in 2022 and co-hosted “The Bottom Line” with Dagen McDowell.
Trump said in a statement that Duffy “will prioritize excellence, competence, competitiveness and beauty as we rebuild America’s highways, tunnels, bridges and airports.” He will ensure our ports and dams serve the economy without compromising national security, and he will make our skies safe again by eliminating DEI for pilots and air traffic controllers. ”
“Sean Duffy provided valuable insight and analysis while co-hosting the Fox Business Network program ‘The Bottom Line,'” Fox News Media said in a statement. “We wish him the best of luck as he returns to Washington. The Bottom Line will continue with Dagen McDowell and rotating co-hosts.”
