Donald Trump appeared on FOX News again to nominate the FOX Business host as his nominee for Secretary of Transportation.
Duffy, a former congressman, is a co-host of Fox Business’ “The Bottom Line” and a contributor to the news network. He was also a cast member on a season of The Real World.
President Trump said in a statement that Duffy “will prioritize excellence, competency, competitiveness and beauty as we rebuild America’s highways, tunnels, bridges and airports.” He will ensure our ports and dams serve the economy without compromising national security, and he will make our skies safe again by eliminating DEI for pilots and air traffic controllers. ”
Duffy is married to Fox & Friends Weekend co-host Rachel Campos-Duffy. The show’s co-host, Pete Hegseth, was nominated by President Trump to be Secretary of Defense last week.
President Trump continued, “As the husband of a wonderful woman, Fox News star Rachel Campos Duffy, and father of nine wonderful children, Sean understands how important it is for his family to be able to travel safely and securely. I know,” he added. ”
Duffy was a cast member on The Real World: Boston in 1997 and later became district attorney for Ashland County, Wisconsin. He served in the House of Representatives from 2011 to 2019. He then joined Fox News Media in 2020 and began co-hosting the Fox Business show with Dagen McDowell in 2023.
According to Fox News, McDowell will take over as co-host following Duffy’s departure.
