Small Business Saturday, Nov. 30, is part of the Holly Jolie Hamilton season. Local businesses along Downtown’s High and Main Streets, Westside, Millville and beyond will have extended hours and special sales throughout the day, just in time for holiday shopping.
“Small Business Saturday brings together retail, restaurants and bars and we have a strong presence again this year,” said Tiffany Grubb, director of membership and marketing for the Greater Hamilton Chamber of Commerce. said.
“There are some new businesses in town, so people can expect to find some new businesses opening along with the magical experience they have always had in Hamilton on Small Business Saturday. ” she said.
Historically, this day continues to increase sales and attract new customers for many small businesses. Hamilton has seen an increase in foot traffic and people from surrounding areas are making Hamilton a destination. More than 50 companies will participate.
“Small businesses are the backbone of the American economy,” Bates said. “Nowhere else can you get closer to that Hallmark experience than here,” Bates said.

Small Business Saturday was originally started by American Express in 2010 in response to the Great Recession. The Saturday after Thanksgiving marks the 15th annual event for small businesses across the country to celebrate.
