ERIE – The Lock Haven football team closed out the 2024 season on the road against Gannon (3-7). Week 11: The Bald Eagles earned a hard-fought 21-13 victory over the host nation in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference East-West. crossover action.
The win was the Bald Eagles’ fifth of the season, on a five-game winning streak.
Leading the way offensively was quarterback Jackson Ostrovsky, who finished his record-breaking season in style. Ostrovsky threw for 278 yards and two touchdowns. Damir Green carried the ball 15 times for 101 yards and 1 TD.
Record-breaking wide receiver Tia Young had nine catches for 112 yards and a touchdown catch late in the first half to give Lock Haven a 14-10 lead at halftime.
Senior Won Williams also made a TD grab.
Lock Haven’s defense helped lead the team to victory today thanks to a total of four interceptions. Senior standout Darryl Pollard finished with two points, and Davian Vernon and Jayion Perry both scored one point.
The Bald Eagles finished the regular season with 13 interceptions, third most in the PSAC.
Oscar Uduma finished the day with nine tackles, including two sacks, while Markelle Morgan, Izzy Ramos and Rocco Daugherty led the defense with seven tackles each.
Senior Justin Anderson recorded 1.5 tackles for loss, pushing his career total to 34.5, a new career record at Lock Haven. Anderson had a sack today, tying the all-time career record in that category with 18.5 sacks, and today’s effort capped off a stellar career in the crimson and white.
Ostrovsky finished the 2024 season with 3,203 passing yards, 291.18 passing yards per game, and 27 passing TDs, all of which led the PSAC. All of these marks also serve as Lock Haven’s single-season passing records.
Young finished the season with the PSAC’s No. 1 mark in receiving yards (1,146), receiving yards per game (104.2) and receiving touchdowns (11). His 11 TDs are tied for the single-season touchdown record, and his 1,146 yards are second in school history.
The Bald Eagles finished the season with two straight wins.
With today’s win, Lock Haven fell to 3-4 in PSAC East play, but finished the season with a 5-6 overall record.
When Lock Haven won five games last season (2023), it was the first five-win season for the Bald Eagles in 42 years (1982). The Haven now has 10 wins in two seasons, the most wins for the second consecutive year since Lock Haven won 11 in 1981 (6 wins) and 1982 (5 wins). Ta.
