Rudy Giuliani turns over his 1980 Mercedes-Benz convertible, luxury watch collection and diamond ring as two Georgia election workers try to beat the court system in former New York mayor’s battle put a partial end to it. Collect the $150 million debt he incurred in one year.
A lawyer representing Mr. Giuliani told a federal judge in New York that the ring and watch were delivered by FedEx and that the car was “delivered as requested” in Florida. Giuliani also directed his bank to release at least $30,000 into his bank account, according to Friday’s court filing.
The allegation by Staten Island attorney Joseph Cammarata, who handled Mr. Giuliani’s case, was made Friday by Georgia mother and daughter Ruby Freeman, who suffered severe harassment from election deniers after the 2020 election, according to court records. It was a remarkable moment for the actress and Shay Moss. Giuliani repeatedly denigrated them in public while working as President-elect Donald Trump’s lawyer.
Mr. Giuliani lost his law license following the ordeal, but remains back in Mr. Trump’s camp. A court filing Friday said he plans to attend events around Trump’s 2024 inauguration.
Lawyers for Mr. Moss and Mr. Freeman had not filed a response in court as of Friday night, the deadline for Mr. Giuliani’s extradition, and declined to comment to CNN. Giuliani could be held in contempt of court if he fails to provide a complete list of items ordered by a judge last month.
Mr. Giuliani’s spokesman, Ted Goodman, posted a video on social media showing himself at a FedEx store with more than a dozen watches and rings on a table. Goodman said in the video that he was shipping the watch from Florida.
“This is the culmination of 60 years of hard work. Many of these watches have great sentimental value, and we are forced by court order to turn them all over,” Trump said in a Palm Beach polo shirt. Goodman said in the video.
Giuliani told the court that one watch belonged to his grandfather and the other two were gifts from European leaders after the September 11, 2001 attacks.
Furniture and sports memorabilia stored at a Long Island storage facility still needs to be sorted out from items that Giuliani doesn’t need to give to Freeman and Moss, according to Giuliani’s Friday court filing. It is said that there is.
Mr. Moss and Mr. Freeman’s team were still working through the paperwork to gain control of the $6 million Manhattan apartment so they could sell it, according to recent court records. Other properties are likely to be sold upon receipt, allowing Mr. Freeman and Mr. Moss to begin collecting about $150 million owed by the former New York mayor.
The two are also currently battling in court to win a $3.5 million mansion in Palm Beach, Fla., and four Yankees World Series rings from the 1990s and 2000.
Mr. Giuliani still insists he should continue living in his Palm Beach condo and Manhattan apartment, and claims he gave his son a World Series ring years ago. Those disputes are scheduled to go to trial in January, days before the presidential inauguration.
“The court did not intentionally schedule the trial for January 16, 2025, when inauguration events were scheduled for January 16, 17, 18, 19, and 20, 2025. I am confident not,” Cammarata wrote. “We respectfully request that the trial be postponed until after January 22, 2025, so that Rudolph Giuliani can attend the inauguration event.”
A refrigerator in Mr. Guiliani’s Manhattan apartment was also turned over to Mr. Freeman and Mr. Moss, but the former mayor wants it back, his lawyer said.
His lawyers are also seeking an appraisal of the Mercedes that once belonged to Lauren Bacall and that Giuliani took to a polling place in Palm Beach on Election Day last week, as it is not worth more than a few thousand dollars. If so, we ask you to judge whether it is worth it. I gave it back to him.
