Los Angeles Dodgers stars Shohei Ohtani and Mookie Betts were named to the 2024 National League All-MLB First Team following their World Series title.
Meanwhile, New York Yankees stars Juan Soto and Aaron Judge were named to the first team on Thursday, headlined by American League selections.

Candidates for the All-MLB team are determined based on a player’s performance during the regular season. The team was announced live Thursday night during the All-MLB Awards in Las Vegas, which aired on MLB Network.
Soto earned the nomination after hitting a career-high 41 home runs while leading the AL with 128 RBIs. Judge was included as an All-MLB outfielder after leading MLB with 58 home runs, 144 RBIs, and 133 walks.
Betts, meanwhile, was acquired for the third consecutive year after playing both shortstop and outfield for the Dodgers during the 2024 season.
“It was easy to go back to the infield,” Betts said at Thursday night’s awards ceremony. “It’s tough being in the infield. But you have to do what you have to do.”

Guardians veteran third baseman Jose Ramirez made the first team in 2024 with 39 home runs and 41 stolen bases.
Diamondbacks switch hitter Ketel Marte hit a career-high 36 home runs, evenly splitting 18 against right-handed pitchers and 18 against left-handed pitchers.
Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. has earned a first-team spot after finishing the 2024 season as a member of the 30-30 club for the second consecutive season.
Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was selected to the team after batting .323 with 103 RBIs this season.
Brewers catcher William Contreras was named to the first team after leading the National League catchers with 23 home runs, 99 RBIs, and 92 RBIs.
Ohtani, who will be restricted from pitching in 2024, became the first MLB player to hit 25 home runs and steal 25 bases in the same season, earning him a first-team spot as a DH.
Emmanuel Clase of the Guardians and Ryan Helsley of the St. Louis Cardinals were selected as first-team relief pitchers, along with Chris Sale of the Braves, Tariq Skubal of the Tigers, Paul Skeens of the Pirates, Zach Wheeler of the Phillies, and Orioles. Corbin Burnes was selected as a first-team relief pitcher. First team starting lineup.
Skeens started 23 games and pitched 133 innings for the Pirates, posting a record of 11 wins, 3 losses, and an ERA of 1.96, and finished his rookie season as a first-team starter.
Skubal and Sale both earned first-team spots and finished the season in which they established themselves as Cy Young Award candidates. The Tigers finished the season with a 21-10 record with Skubal as a starter and an ERA of 2.39. Meanwhile, Sale started 29 games and achieved the National League Triple Crown with 18 wins, 225 strikeouts, and a 2.38 ERA.
