HIGH POINT — In partnership with a third-party investor, luxury home furnishings brand Theodore Alexander will open its first retail store on Long Island in spring 2025.
First reported by our sister publication Long Island Business News, the High Point-based furniture maker will open a new building in Kimco Realty’s Munsey Park Plaza Shopping Center at 2101 Northern Blvd. It has 41,393 square feet of retail space above Whole Foods Market. in Manhasset. The space was previously home to a Bed Bath & Beyond store, which closed in 2021.
“We are excited to have our retail partners open the first Theodore Alexander retail store in Manhasset,” President Ed Toeplitz told Furniture Today. “This is a great opportunity to bring our designs to this iconic Long Island community. “This is a new chapter for Theodore Alexander by delivering directly to our customers.” “This milestone has been made possible with the support of new investors who not only believe in our vision, but also see tremendous potential in the brand. We are reinforcing our commitment to showcasing our craftsmanship and design in a way that provides a truly unique, whole-home experience.”
Although the company is entering retail in earnest, Toeplitz said Theodore Alexander is not taking the business lightly and intends to work with long-term, loyal retail and design partners. “We have no intention of moving away from our current distribution. We value our relationships with retailers and designers and want to continue that,” he said.
Mr. Teplitz said Theodore Alexander has a large in-store gallery overseas, but this will be his first exclusive store. He said the company is looking forward to introducing itself to Long Island consumers.
“We’re excited,” he said. “This is a great way to introduce our brand and let consumers know who we are and what we offer.”
