CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 News) — The Charlottesville community is made up of small businesses, and one company in particular is celebrating being a part of it for 10 years.
Firefly is known for its safe spaces for the queer community, pinball tournaments, and trivia nights, and this weekend we’re celebrating all of that with the community we’ve supported for 10 years.
“I’m celebrating 10 years with Firefly, and my other business, Coco and Spice, is celebrating 10 years next February. And what I’ve learned is that we couldn’t do it without the community. We couldn’t do it without support, and the volunteers helped us get through it all,” said Firefly owner Jennifer Mowad.
Firefly says these are for everyone in the community, but they want to make sure the LGBTQ+ community knows it’s a welcoming place they can celebrate for years to come. Masu.
