SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. — Sandy Springs announced Nov. 5 that Asbury Automotive Group, one of the nation’s largest franchise automotive groups, will move its headquarters to the city.
Asbury has signed a purchase agreement and plans to close on the former Newell Brands headquarters at 6655 Peachtree Dunwoody Road within 30 days, the city said in a statement.
Asbury plans to renovate the 98,000-square-foot facility in preparation for its expected move in late summer 2025.
“We are very excited to welcome Asbury Automotive Group to Sandy Springs,” said Mayor Rusty Paul. “Asbury will bring 350 new jobs to our city, bringing quality employment opportunities and a significant economic impact to our community.”
The Sandy Springs City Council approved the City of Asbury’s request for financial incentives that include a three-year waiver on building permit fees and business taxes.
The estimated total amount of fees waived by the city of Asbury is $254,500, according to the city’s Economic Development Department.
Asbury President and CEO David Hult said the company is looking forward to relocating from Duluth in Gwinnett County to the surrounding area.
“This is an exciting change for our team and will bring many benefits to our current and future employees, both in the building itself and in the convenience of the surrounding area,” Hult said. “Sandy Springs offers direct access to the heart of Atlanta, world-class dining and entertainment, and Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, the busiest airport in the world.”
Located on Atlanta’s central border, Sandy Springs is home to many Fortune 500 companies, including Asbury, a top 300 city.
