A group of Chico State University students has created a website and is working on an app that will help connect people with taskers who can help with chores.
CHICO, Calif. – A group of Chico State University students has launched a new business aimed at helping people in the community who need help with errands and household chores.
Sirena Rios, Owen Allsup, Duke Morales, Paisley Weigel, Shotamura, Seth LeBlanc, and Andrew Won teamed up to help launch a new business.
Their business, which goes by the name Done Deal, aims to make your life easier by providing affordable assistance in the form of a tasker.
Taskers help you complete everyday duties such as landscaping, pet care, running errands, and household services. We offer flexible work schedules, affordable support, and a convenient way to complete household chores and errands.
Not only can you hire a tasker from Done Deal to help you, but you can also apply to be a tasker to earn extra money.
“We wanted to create this company because we wanted to provide flexible work opportunities for students, and we also wanted to help members of the community get odd jobs that they don’t necessarily have time for. ” said Chico State University student Owen Allsup.
Done Deal students told Action News Now that the business started as a fall semester class project, but the students decided to keep it going and turn it into a legitimate business. .
Students say the Done Deal website is completely free for everyone to use.
Seth LeBlanc, a student at Chico State University, says it’s up to users to bid on tasks, as to how much it would cost to have a tasker help them.
“As for our current rates, we allow users to bid on their work, so anything that we feel has value once it’s washed, we’ll have different workers buy it and make it work for you. If we find any work for you, we’ll contact you.” Work with the task assignee to get the work done. ”
The Done Deal website is a prototype of the business the students are working on, but they hope to make it more accessible next year by turning the website into an app.
When asked what they hope to accomplish with their business, students said the business aims to bring the community together.
“We really want to get back to the good old days when neighbors came together and helped each other,” said Duke Morales, a student at Chico State University. “We believe it can help small businesses outsource small operations that they don’t really want to hire employees for. Busy professionals, students, and seniors are always in need of help, and students need flexible schedules.” This works perfectly because we want to create a stronger community around us.”
