HARRIS — Bark River Harris volleyball suffered from a slow start and lost 25-18, 25-18, 25-10 to No. 1 Forest Park in Skyline Central Conference action here Monday.
The Broncos trailed 6-0 at the start of the first and third sets.
“Forest Park is a very aggressive service team.” Broncos coach Brooke Anderson said. “They kept us on guard and even though we fell behind early, I was proud of the way the girls fought back.”
The Broncos trailed 17-3 in the first set, but rallied and scored 10 of the 11 points to cut the lead to 18-13.
The Trojans scored the next three points to extend the lead to 21-13, but the Broncos continued to fight, winning four of the next five points to cut the lead to 22-17.
The Trojans finished the first set winning three of the final four points.
In the third set, the Broncos once again fell behind 6-0 and were unable to close the gap as Forest Park ran away with the set.
Emma Zawada led the Broncos with six kills and three aces.
“Emma did a good job getting us back in the first set.” Anderson said.
Senior hope Varoni had four kills and two aces.
The Broncos host Gwynn in Monday’s district game.
