I’ve been drinking Himalayan Sole Water for several years now and mention it occasionally in blog posts. People often ask me about drinking it. One of the most common is, “How much Sole water should I drink?” Here are my thoughts on Sole Water and how much you should drink depending on your situation.
What is sole water?
Sole (pronounced “so-ray”) is basically a saltwater solution made with plain water and pink Himalayan salt. Himalayan salt is a high quality natural salt rich in minerals.
While regular table salt is only sodium chloride (NaCl), Himalayan salt can contain dozens of other beneficial trace minerals in addition to sodium and chloride. (The exact number is debatable). Therefore, it serves as a daily natural mineral supplement.
To prepare the soles, you will need a quart-sized glass jar, filtered water, and Himalayan salt. When salt crystals dissolve in water, they break down into ions. Therefore, NaCl is exhaled into Na+ and Cl-. The positive ions in the salt surround the negative ions in the water, forming a new charged structure.
This new substance supports detoxification and may increase energy levels. To maintain a natural charge, keep the soles of your shoes away from metal. So I put a plastic lid on the mason jar and stir it with a wooden spoon. If you are concerned about interaction with metal braces, drink through a glass straw.
Here are some more potential health benefits.
Health benefits of drinking soles
People drink this Himalayan salt water for various reasons. Potential health benefits of only water include:
Supports detoxification: In general, drinking water helps support detoxification pathways such as the urinary system. Adding flounder to water also improves the functioning of the digestive system. Dissolved salt crystals can cause the release of hydrochloric acid due to the chloride they contain. Having enough stomach acid stimulates the release of digestive enzymes. Removing toxins can also help keep your immune system balanced. Healthy electrolyte balance: Electrolytes are essential minerals that support the normal functioning of the human body. They regulate fluid balance, muscle contraction, the nervous system, and more. So for some people, adding a sole can help reduce muscle spasms. Better Sleep: One of the important minerals found in Himalayan salt is magnesium, which is known for its calming effects on the nervous system. Helps regulate neurotransmitters that promote relaxation and sleep. A sodium-restricted diet can also lead to disrupted sleep patterns. Increased energy levels: The adrenal glands play a major role in regulating energy and stress levels. Minerals such as magnesium and sodium found in Himalayan soles support adrenal gland function. Healthy adrenals help maintain balanced energy levels and improve recovery. Weight Loss: One potential side effect of drinking only water is weight loss. Although not confirmed by research, many people report losing weight after adding flounder to their daily glass of water. That may be due to the positive effect salt has on insulin resistance.
How only water can help
I personally felt more energy and better digestion within the first week. I noticed an improvement in my skin within a few weeks. I also started sleeping better right after I started.
Here are some testimonies from our comments.
“I’ve been taking it for years. My skin is much smoother and my nose is no longer stuffy. I haven’t been sick in a long time.” – Miho “I add a pinch of Himalayan salt and warm water. I dissolve it in water and drink several cups a day with great results. I carry a small box of salt with me and add it to my water whenever I need it. I feel brighter, my digestive system works better, and I don’t have palpitations anymore. It works great for me.” – Agnes “Saul has had a huge impact on my life. I get dizzy and faint. I suffer from migraines and low blood pressure. By taking flounder every day, my migraines have reduced to just a fraction of what they used to be, and my blood pressure is now normal.” – Donna “My doctor told me that my blood pressure is normal. The person recommended I use it to get rid of leg cramps at night. Voila! I’m taking it every day and my legs have been cramping ever since. “Thank you for the great article. It really saved my life. I haven’t eaten salt in years and my muscles are starting to ache. My skin is dark, my body is swollen, and I feel tired. Sole has cleared up all of these sodium deficiency symptoms and is now healthy and active. Thank you.
Seeing all these amazing results, you are probably wondering how to use Himalayan sole in your life.
How to use Himalayan sole
The best way to use Himalayan sole is to dissolve a small amount of the mixture in 8 ounces of water first thing in the morning. This will make you hungry. Wait 20 to 30 minutes before drinking plain water or coffee, eating breakfast, or consuming calories. If you do oil pulling every day, do it before drinking Sole.
However, not everyone prefers to drink it as a single dose first thing in the morning. Some people like to mix 1 teaspoon of Shitarame in 32 ounces of water and drink it throughout the day. Adding freshly squeezed lemon juice makes it even more delicious.
When starting out, it’s common to slowly increase your intake until your body gets used to it. Start by dissolving 1/4 teaspoon of Sole Water (8 to 12 ounces) in water on an empty stomach in the morning.
Gradually add up to 1 teaspoon of sole water to a glass of water. This is the standard daily intake for most people. (My kids are on half the dose). However, I limited myself to 2 teaspoons a day. However, be aware that some people have had diarrhea after consuming more than 3 teaspoons per day.
How much water should I drink from my feet?
A standard dose of Himalayan sole is usually one teaspoon mixed into a glass of water once a day. This amount provides electrolyte and mineral benefits without overloading your body with salt.
However, an individual’s hydration needs may vary depending on their activity level, climate, and overall health. While foot water can be used as part of your daily hydration routine, it should not be your only source of fluid intake.
What about high blood pressure?
Interestingly, one teaspoon of pink Himalayan salt contains about 1,700 mg of sodium. The same amount of table salt has about 2,300 mg. According to the Original Himalayan Salt website, one teaspoon of flounder contains only 478 mg of sodium. In other words, a teaspoon of flounder water solution doesn’t contain as much sodium as you might think.
And for most people, salt doesn’t even affect blood pressure. However, there is also something called familial hypertension. Therefore, if you are genetically sensitive to salt, be careful and consult your doctor.
What appears to be high blood pressure may actually be a hidden form of insulin resistance. Avoiding salt can worsen insulin resistance, which can also reduce insulin’s ability to dilate blood vessels, which can lead to lower blood pressure.
Who should consider drinking Sole?
Anyone looking to increase their healthy salt intake or address the issues listed above may want to try solemn. It may be helpful for people who have low blood sodium for any reason.
In general, Americans consume much less unrefined salt than our ancestors. Be sure to get enough potassium from fresh foods.
However, if you have kidney disease, heart disease, or other sodium-related health problems, talk to your doctor. A low-sodium diet may be necessary, especially as you work to regain balance.
Final thoughts on the daily Himalayan salt routine
Himalayan Pink Salt Sole is an easy way to add essential minerals to your daily life. It’s fine at room temperature, so it’s convenient to store it in a mason jar on your kitchen counter. That way, it stays in your mind and becomes seamlessly part of your morning routine. However, you can also chill it in the refrigerator.
I will explain in detail how to make foot sole water. If you don’t want to use Himalayan salt, Celtic sea salt or real salt are also good options. Be careful not to use refined table salt, which is pure sodium.
