Steve Bannon, the former White House chief strategist under the Trump administration, is scheduled to be released on Tuesday, but details of his life in prison have been revealed as he was attracted to hanging out with other white prisoners. .
The news website Notus published an investigation into Bannon’s correspondence with several of his fellow inmates at a prison in Connecticut.
Inmates serving time with Donald Trump’s far-right allies say he and many other U.S. prisons are unofficially divided among racial, religious and geographic groups. He said he was attracted to “white cars.”
The group also includes gang members serving sentences for fraud and similar extortionists, Notus reported.
“Your boy (Bannon) is sitting in a white car with some Godfather-type Italian guy,” Fred Carrasco Jr., who is serving time for armed drug trafficking, told Notus.
“He basically sticks to his crew and hangs out with one guy who’s pretty tough,” Carrasco told Notus, adding that white inmates at the prison have their own table, where He added that he was a regular sit-in.
Bannon will be released from the FCI Danbury prison in rural Connecticut on Tuesday after serving four months in prison. A jury found him guilty of two counts of contempt of Congress. One was his refusal to give a deposition to the committee, and the other was his refusal to produce documents.
In addition to his political career, Bannon is the host of The War Room, a podcast that has millions of listeners and is popular among Trump supporters.
He is expected to continue his media and political career, rekindling controversial calls for “vengeance” against the Democratic Party and other critics of the MAGA movement.
“I wouldn’t be surprised to see him jump right into the campaign trail and host a four-hour daily ‘War Room’ show,” said British conservative activist Raheem Kassam. Kassam told Notus.
“I’m in touch with Steve almost every day,” Kassam said.
According to Rolling Stone, Bannon also spent time in prison teaching weekly civics classes to felons.
“Mr. Trump’s 34 felony convictions make being a felon somewhat less painful,” Bannon reportedly told students during one of these classes.
